Food Around The Track: Auto Club Speedway

Tole House Café:

The Tole House Café is a great breakfast and lunch spot not too far from Auto Club Speedway. Mike and Jennifer Towles opened the restaurant in 1999 after tiring of the corporate world and have been serving it up ever since.
Every breakfast item gets rave reviews, but the five-egg omelette is the meal hearty eaters have been enjoying for years. Check out the Tole House Omelette: five eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, bell pepper, onion, mushroom and cheese….smothered in country gravy.
A large variety of traditional breakfasts is complimented by a “South of the Border” menu featuring burritos and a few other options. Lunch meals include hot or cold sandwiches, burgers and other “munchies”.

Mitla Café

Established in 1937, Mitla Café is not only an institutions for local diners in San Bernardino; but also a historical landmark on a famed “Route 66”. The restaurant prides itself with tremendous Mexican and American cuisine with little fanfare or frills. It’s the food that makes this place so popular.
Recommended most on www.RoadFood.com is the carne asada dinner and albondigas soup; but in reading review it looks like everything on the menu is tasty. Everything is home made including the chips and their famous spicy salsa.

Wahoo’s Fish Taco:

This 50 store chain (California, Colorado and Texas) started with the Wahoo Brothers: Wing, Ed and Mindo. “They combined their love of surf and food to create a restaurant with an eclectic Mexican/Brazilian/Asian menu with a Hawaiian north-shore vibe.”
Tacos, burritos, enchiladas, combo platters, “Wahoo Bowls”, and other option make it simply a matter of ordering what you like and how you want it served.
