Jake’s is nothing fancy, but the food is fantastic. Located not-to-far from Charlotte Motor Speedway this is one place well worth the short drive.
The menu is an interesting mix of full-meals and sandwiches with some interesting, and very tasty, combinations. Such as: blackened flounder topped with crawfish sauce over country ham grit cake and sautéed vegetables; bone-in maple-glaze pork chop with roasted garlic mashed potatos and candied apples; or grilled b-b-q chicken breast over mac and cheese with grilled broccoli.
And, if it’s a sandwich a sure-bet is the shrimp and oyster po boy with lettuce, tomato and garlic mustard. And, save room for banana pudding – you will be glad you did.

In 2005, Richard Childress realized a long-term dream with the opening of Childress Winery. Rave reviews on his wine and tasting room – including Wine Enthusiast magazine naming Childress Winery as one of the top-25 tasting rooms in the country –have come from near and far.
